How To Get Here
Even though Florida's Space Coast was discovered because of its close proximity to water, we realize it's not the only way you can reach our destination. Located just 35 miles (56 km) east of Orlando, we have direct access to three major highways: Interstate I-95, highway U.S. 1, and the Beach Line Expressway (528). If you're flying the friendly skies, we're also home to Melbourne Orlando International Airport and Space Coast Regional Airport.
Ground Transportation
Ground transportation, both public and private, is available throughout Florida's Space Coast. Choose from taxis, shuttles, car rentals, buses, or even the Cocoa Beach trolleys which only service A1A.
Space Coast Area Transit
Space Coast Area Transit's (SCAT) fixed route service operates throughout the Space Coast to provide public transportation to both residents and visitors. Fixed routes operate on a set schedule at designated stops, providing extensive coverage. All transit buses are wheelchair lift equipped. And bikes can be accommodated at no additional charge. Surfboards are allowed inside the bus, based on space availability. Major shopping centers, government centers, social service agencies, area colleges, universities and hospitals are just some of the locations they serve. SCAT provides service on 14 weekday routes. Cocoa Beach Trolley
The Cocoa Beach Trolley owned and operated by Space Coast Area Transit runs from Port Canaveral to 13th Street South in Cocoa Beach. A ride on the Trolley costs just $1.25 with a special rate of .60 for seniors, veterans, disabled and students. There is no charge for children under five or for transfers to fixed route bus service. Access by Air
Melbourne International Airport (MLB)
Florida's Space Coast is serviced by Melbourne International Airport. Delta Air Lines and Delta Connection offer nonstop jet service to Atlanta with daily connections to over 500 destinations in 94 countries. Baer Air offers regularly scheduled international flights to the Bahamas and on-demand charter service.
Orlando International Airport (MCO)
Located 35 miles west of Florida's Space Coast, Orlando International Airport is one of the busiest in the world, accommodating more than 36 million passengers a year. Scheduled non-stop service is provided to 17 international destinations. And domestic flights to more places than any other airport in Florida.
Orlando Sanford International Airport
Within an hour's drive from Florida's Space Coast, Orlando Sanford International Airport offers another option for travelers with a choice between six carriers offering both international and domestic flights.
Access by Train
Orlando Amtrak Station (ORL)
Located in Downtown Orlando, this Amtrak Station is serviced by the Silver Service and Palmetto trains which run up and down the Eastern seaboard.
Sanford Amtrak Station (SFA)
The Sanford station is serviced by Amtrak's Auto Train, which provides non-stop service between Washington, D. C. and Florida.
Shuttle Service
Don't really need the use of a car and the bus is out of the way? Then choose from one of two dozen shuttle services that can pick you up from the airport or the Port and deliver you right to the doorstep of your hotel.
