Space Coast Fishing

Florida's Space Coast is Florida fishing at its best! Whether you're a salt water enthusiast or fresh water, you'll love the fact that you can fish year round and that our area is the home to an excellent fleet of sportfishing charter boats and Port Canaveral is considered to be one of the safest ocean inlets on the east coast.

Want to go it on your own? That's perfectly fine. We have more than half a dozen public boat ramps, 72 miles of public beaches, several public piers, several places to rent a boat for the day, week or even month and free permits for deep sea and fresh water fishing.

What's biting in our waters?

Deep Sea

Year Round: dolphin, grouper, king mackerel, wahoo, blue and white marlin, sailfish, tuna, snapper
Spring: amberjack, crevalle jack
Summer: crevalle jack, red snapper, grouper, dolphin (fish)

Pier

Year Round: flounder, king and Spanish mackerel, sheepshead, snapper, trout, weakfish, whiting
Spring and Fall: bluefish, Spanish makerel
Late Summer/Early Fall: sea bass, tarpon

Surf

Year Round: channel bass, flounder, pompano, Spanish mackerel, whiting
Spring: bluefish, snook, whiting, crevalle jack
Fall: redfish, bluefish, pompano, sea bass, snook
Winter: bluefish, pompano

Rivers (Indian River, Banana River, and St. John's)

Year Round: redfish, black drum, sea bass, sheepshead, spotted sea trout, weakfish, whiting
Spring/Early Summer: redfish, spotted sea trout, mangrove snapper, snook, tarpon
