SPECIAL EVENTS AND FESTIVALS
Whether throwing beads from a carnival float at Cocoa’s Mardi Gras or witnessing surfers carve through the waves at the Sebastian Inlet Pro-Am Competition, visitors experience Space Coast’s local flair at festivals and events year-round. The City of Melbourne and the district of Cocoa Village offer Friday Fests, a neighborhood street party, featuring family-oriented fun with music, local art and crafts vendors, as well as a classic car showcase. Nature enthusiasts attend the Birding & Wildlife Festival, the second largest wildlife festival in the country, explore Mosquito Lagoon on Space Coast River Tour’s pontoon boat or enjoy a sunset kayak past the Mangrove Islands near Merritt Island.

CRUISING PORTS: MORE RECREATION THAN ALL OTHER FLORIDA PORTS COMBINED
Port Canaveral hosts six cruise vessels from Carnival, Royal Caribbean and Disney Cruise Lines, as well as Sterling and Sun Cruz both offering evening gaming excursions. A fleet of more than 30 charter boats is available for a trip to one of the very few areas in the world where fishing’s grand slam is possible – four species of billfish were caught by the same fishermen in 24 hours. More than 10 waterfront bars and grills provide visitors with an array of options to experience the local flavors and four recreational parks, including the 4.5-acre Jetty Park, are great sites to wave bon voyage to departing vessels.
